What should your next steps be after you are placed?
Lots of people talk about the pre-placement stuff, but the post-placement stuff is equally important.
Here are some things that you should essentially be doing after getting placed:
1) Apply for a PAN card if you don’t have one already.
2) If the company demands international travel, also do apply for a passport if you don’t have one.
3) If your salary is greater than 2.5 lacs per annum, you should also start planning for tax deductions.
4) Plan your savings and investments. Know where to put money wisely like FDs, Mutual funds, SIPs, etc. Start investing money at an early stage.
5) Do not let go of your LinkedIn account just because you have a job now. Keep engaging on it and updating it regularly. Build your own network wisely.
6) Learning should never stop. Take out time to learn something new each day. UpSkilling and CrossSkilling are the need of an hour.
7) Take out time for your hobbies. Spend 1 hour each day doing what you love.
8) If you plan to study further, make sure that you set a proper timetable for studying as well.
9) Look out for passive income opportunities. Do not rely on one income source.
