Most consulting firms list a similar set of skills that they want to see in a candidate’s resume.

– Be familiar with the business world and understand how it works at a practical level.

8) CV Spikes:
– High CGPA/Grades and Certifications.
– Tier 1 Institutions matters a lot.
– High GMAT/GRE Scores.
– Extraordinary internships and entrepreneurship exposure.

You can reflect these skills on your resume with relevant examples and quantitative facts.

Most consulting resumes are scanned and not read and that is why these skills should be there on your resume.

Some other tips to keep in mind:

1) Your resume should comply with the industry standards:
– You should keep to one page, use a standard typeface, have four to five sections, and omit any photographs.
– Other standards can be researched via YouTube.

2) Skill-oriented resume:
– Your resume should have at least 3 of the skills mentioned above.

3) Achievement-focused:
– Recruiters are not particularly interested in specific previous roles that you might have.
– Rather they are interested in the achievements you have made in those particular roles.

4) Appropriate language:
– Your language should always be accessible to a generally educated layperson.
– Avoid using technical jargon.
