Raj: I sat for almost 5-6 companies today, and gave so many interviews in a row. I sat for every company that came in today.
Shyam: But isn’t your target company’s interview scheduled in an hour?
Raj: Yes! But I don’t think I will be able to do that.

You don’t want to end up in a situation like Raj.
And that is why it’s important for you to know that YOU DON’T need to sit for every company that’s coming in during your placement season.
It’s okay even if you leave a few because, at the end of the day, you also want a break.
But, how can you know which companies to skip?
1) Profile:
– Check if the profile interests you. Don’t get into a profile that you ultimately don’t want and will end up wasting your time.
2) Salary:
– If the company isn’t providing a reasonable package and you think it doesn’t cater to your needs, you can skip it.
3) Pre-placement presentation:
– If after listening to their presentation and about the company, the deals interest you, only then sit for the company.
4) Long-term perks:
– The company should have good increment options and should be capable of giving you promotions in future
5) Environment:
– Sometimes after talking to the people from the company, you get to know what kind of people you will find there. Make sure it’s good.
These are some very common criteria that will help you understand what to skip and hold.
